Mission:

  • Dr. Hayes strives to see the whole pet and the big picture when performing in-home veterinary consultations for quality of life evaluations, palliative care plans, and end-of-life humane euthanasia services. She sees companion animals, primarily cats and dogs, belonging to clients around the greater Boston, MA area. In addition to end-of-life veterinary care, her services include arranging cremation aftercare through Final Gift. She offers pet memorial keepsake items such as paw and nose prints.

  • Through open communication, Dr. Hayes helps clients understand and manage their pet's condition and diagnosis as well as prognosis and treatment options. When the time comes, Dr. Hayes can help guide pet families and offer their beloved pet a peaceful crossing over the Rainbow Bridge. In everything, Dr. Hayes works diligently to make sure that the pet family is supported and their goals of care are achieved.

About:

Growing up in the mountains of northwest Montana, Dr. Hayes was always around horses, cats, and dogs. Her family instilled in her a great love for all creatures and nature. Having also lived in Washington and Pennsylvania, Dr. Hayes is excited to be in New England and close to new destinations for outdoor adventures in hiking, biking, camping, long distance running, and skiing. She shares her family home with one cat Neo, adopted as a feral stray kitten from her time working in Pennsylvania.

On her very first day shadowing in a veterinary clinic prior to veterinary school, a transformative experience as a peaceful presence for a geriatric dog at end of life guided her towards this path. While in veterinary school, Dr. Hayes was fortunate to receive extra training and volunteer as part in the WSU Pet Loss Hotline serving bereaved pet owners. Now Dr. Hayes finds fulfillment in providing this service to her clients.

Dr. Hayes has a special interest in providing a low stress experience for each of her patients. She is seeking her Fear Free certification as well as advanced education and training through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy and the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
